Cox and Alblas tied for 18th after first round at PING/ASU Invitational

Florida Atlantic women’s golf team finished the first round of the PING/ASU Invitational in a tie for sixth place on March 23, with a team score of four over par. Nancy Cox and Carolin Alblas each posted rounds of one under par (71), placing them both inside the top 20 individually.

The performance by Cox and Alblas was achieved through different approaches on the course. Alblas recorded 16 pars, two birdies, and one bogey during her round. In contrast, Cox’s scorecard featured five birdies offset by four bogeys, never going more than three holes without making a birdie. Both players are tied for 18th out of a field of 89 competitors.

Other Florida Atlantic golfers will continue play in Phoenix with second-round tee times scheduled throughout the morning in Eastern Time: Maddie Rathjen at 10:55 a.m., Tina Genoulaz at 11:04 a.m., Charlotte Perkins at 11:13 a.m., Carolin Alblas at 11:22 a.m., and Nancy Cox at 11:31 a.m.

Hole-by-hole scoring is available online for those interested in following along as reported by the tournament scoreboard.
